How can I use my payment gateway to charge my attendees on the front-end?

To begin collecting charges from attendees on your event's front-end, you'll first need to let your client success manager know that you'd like to start charging attendees with a payment gateway. We'll first ensure that you're preferred payment gateway is compatible with Meetingmax, and get everything in order for you.

Once your chosen payment gateway has been set up in your Master Control Panel by the Meetingmax team, you'll see the Payment Gateway section show up under the Payments tab of your event profile.

The following is a description of each the PG fields to help get you started:
  1. Payment Gateway: for selecting which payment gateway you'd like to use, or to disable your payment gateway (can be done at any time)
  2. Merchant Account Tag: a configurable tag referenced in the payment gateway to indicate where the charge is from. Example:

  3. Charge Label: used to label the charge on the front-end; this only shows up when the charge is set to "Include in room total" (more info below)

  4. Charge Type:
Note: certain charge types provide an option to either include or subtract the charge amount from the overall room total. When including, the amount is additional to the room total, and when subtracting, the amount comes off the room total as a payment.
    1. Full Payment: amounts to the full total of the room
    2. One Night Room and Tax: amounts to the highest nightly rate included in the selected nights, plus tax
    3. Per Night: amounts to a configurable amount for each night on a reservation
    4. Per Room: amounts to a configurable amount for each room on a reservation
    5. Per Reservation: amounts to a configurable amount for each reservation
    6. Service Fee: amounts to a configurable amount for each reservation that is not refundable
Once you have your PG configured to your satisfaction, the only thing left to do is save, and your PG is now in operation. You'll begin seeing charges come through as attendees book housing on the front-end.
