Can I suppress certain emails from sending to certain attendees?
At both the event and sub-block levels, you have can decide what emails from your system should and should not be sent to your attendees. *Note there are some limitations on the sub-block level.
Event Level
At the event level, the settings for email suppression can be found under the "Communication" tab of the event profile.
The different Change Request Emails occur when;
- Submitted: When guests submits a change request, regardless of status of reservation and pre- or post-cut-off date.
- Declined: When a change request is declined
- Processed: When manual action is required (either by the hotel user or admin user)
When an email is unchecked, it will not send to the attendee. As an example, in the screenshot above, we have the Confirmation email unchecked - meaning it is not suppressed. When your attendee's reservation becomes accepted, either from manual acceptance or when confirmation numbers are uploaded into the system through the rooming list tab, the confirmation email will not send!
Sub-block Level
At the sub-block level, the settings for email suppression can be found under the "Admin" tab of the sub-block profile.
Here, you can specify whether you want the sub-block to inherit the settings of the event, or to either always send or not send the email. This way, even if the event's settings change at some point, this particular block's behaviour will always be the same.
This feature can be handy when working with blocks where you don't need the attendees to see communication emails, such as with VIPs and staff, or if you're using a registration system and keeping communication emails coming from only one system.
